Graces of Gurley was lovingly and prayerfully envisioned by a small group of people with a big heart for God and the Gurley community. The Lord saw fit to grow, nurture and bring amazing people to serve Graces of Gurley.

Our board members keep Graces of Gurley accountable to our mission: 

Our mission at Graces of Gurley is to be the hands and feet of Christ through faithful prayer and service to the Gurley community as the Lord leads.

  • Susan Loper Hereford- Executive Director

    Susan Loper Hereford is the Corporate Production Manager for FirstBank Mortgage where she manages production, sales and operations for the company. Susan is also the Executive Director of Graces of Gurley. Graces is a ministry and 501c-3 she started that serves her community by sharing the Gospel and resource reallocation. Susan is married, with 6 beautiful children and 6 grandchildren.  She enjoys reading, writing, yoga, running, and horseback riding.

  • Kerry Wilkerson- President

    Kerry Wilkerson is the Chief Operations Officer for the Madison County Board of Education in Huntsville, Alabama. As an active advocate in the community, Kerry volunteers and serves on several local boards and committees to include; Leadership Huntsville, HEALS, Burritt Museum, Whitesburg Christian Academy, ASPMA and Graces of Gurley.  Graces is the organization where his heart lies for the opportunity to serve the people with needs, especially the children.  God has blessed him far more than anyone deserves and the blessings of seeing the hearts and relationships of people change and come to know the love of God is why he loves being a part of the Graces team. Kerry is married to Pam and they have tow children, one son-in-law and one grandson.


      

  • John and Teresa Milchuck

    John and Teresa have been residents of Gurley since 2010, when John retired from the United State Air Force. John now works for the Missile Defense Agency and Teresa helps clients fulfill their dreams of purchasing a new home as FirstBank's Mortgage Manager for New Construction. Both John and Teresa are passionate about helping the local community and are original members of the Graces of Gurley charity since its inception.  In fact, it was Teresa's love of horses and desire to share the joy they bring that inspired her and Sue Hereford to plan the first Kathryn's Kids Camp back in 2011 as the first of many Graces of Gurley events.  John and Teresa both feel strongly that Christ-centered community involvement is the cornerstone of building strong, active, loving relationships among neighbors and fostering a deep commitment from all to allow Gurley and its residents to thrive.

  • Rob Abercrombie

    Rob is a Realtor with Keller Williams Realty- Huntsville. He has been working as a Realtor for 13 years and loves to help guide his clients through smooth buying and selling transactions. In his spare time, he serves as an Elder at Rivertree Church and often uses his previous years as a counselor to help those in trying times. Rob has been married for more than 15 years to Becca, who also serves with Graces of Gurley. Together, we have 2 kids where we are often found coaching their sports and helping with homework. 



  • Tammy McCurry

    Tammy is the Operations Manager for FirstBank Mortgage. She has been in the banking and mortgage industry for 35 years. Her dedication to the industry is driven by her love of helping families realize their dream of home ownership. She has been married to Steven for 23 years, they have four children and four grandchildren. Her favorite thing to do is spend time with her family. She also love working and serving her community through Graces of Gurley, Trinity United Methodist Church, 100+ Women Who Care, the Emmaus Community and her local schools. She has worked with Graces of Gurley for less than two years, but quickly fell in love with the community and families of Gurley.

  • Laura Patterson Houk

    Laure Houk is the Library Media Specialist and Student Council Sponsor at Madison County High School, and her goal is to promote literacy and provide community service opportunities for all her students. A native of DeKalb Count, Laura is married to Eddie Houk, and between them, they share three wonderful children and tow beautiful granddaughters. She enjoys running, yoga, reading, writing, and traveling.

  • Melanie Mullins

    Melanie is a mom of two college boys and she has 32 years mortgage and real estate experience. She loves working with the first time homebuyer's and help them with their dream of homeownership. Melanie looks forward to working our Dream First Program.

  • Ginger Henshaw

    Ginger Henshaw is a lifelong member of the Gurley community. She currently teaches fourth grade at Central School. Ginger is married and has two children. Ginger is a member of the Board of Directors, serves as secretary, and volunteers with different ministries of Graces of Gurley. She coordinates the Book Blessings program for Madison County Elementary School.

  • Tammy giroir

    Tammy is the HEALS Clinic coordinator for Sonny Hereford school in Huntsville, Alabama. Tammy is happily married and has two beautiful children. Her mission is to spread joy around her community and to be an active servant for God.

  • Becca Abercrombie - Special Advisor

    Becca is a wife and mother of two. She has a heart for missions and a passion to see the church go particularly to the under-resourced and marginalized. God gave her a heart for this through her time at The CARE Center and continues to teach her about justice and reconciliation through her work with several ministries in Uganda as well as Lincoln Village. She also serves on the Go Team at Rivertree Church and loves to see other churches working together with Kingdom purpose.

  • Denise Howard- Ministry Assistant

    Denise has been a member of the Gurley community most of her life. She is the Clinic Coordinator for the Gurley HEALS Clinic, organizer and teacher for children’s ministries at First Baptist Gurley, and the ministry assistant for Graces of Gurley. She is married and has 2 active children. Her spare time is spent being a “soccer mom” at sporting events, Girl Scouts, and school activities. Denise’s passion is using her talents to serve God through family, church, and community.


  • Becca Neely - Executive Assistant

    Becca is a Huntsville native and a current student at UAH. She has been involved with Graces of Gurley since fall 2016 and helps manage the website, social media, and administrative odds and ends. She is passionate about using her technical skills to aid in the efficiency and the effectiveness of serving people.

  • CARRIE LANIER ROBINSON

    Carrie is happily married bonus mom of two. She loves dogs, children and any kind of adventure that comes her way. Carrie instantly had a heart for this community since her father attended MCHS.

  • BONITA GREENE

    Bonita is a longtime resident of Huntsville and currently works at FirstBank Mortgage. She has been with Graces of Gurley since its inception and is passionate about the Love One ministry. She helps connect donors with Gurley families in need, prays with the families when they pick up their food box, and overall helps to ensure our families receive solid meals and hear the truth of the Gospel.



  • MISTY ANDERSON 

    Misty is a wife to Mark, a mother to Lainey and Ellie, a daughter, a sister, a foster parent for puppies and dogs, and a friend to orphans. Professionally, Misty has enjoyed a 22 year career in mortgage banking by helping others reach their dreams of home ownership. Her prayer is for the Lord to give her eyes to see and ears to hear so that she may reach His people in His name. 

  • Maria LutTrell

    Maria is a wife to David, a mother to 3 grown children, grandma to 5 grandchildren and a human momma to one fur-baby pup.  Originally from Oregon, she left her home state to serve in the United States Navy where she served as a dental assistant and dental clinic administrator for 10 years. Maria is a Sanctuary Keeper (Homemaker) and has a heart to serve others and show the love of Jesus by loving on those who cross her path.
