55% to 60% of Madison County Elementary School students qualify for free lunch.

Madison County Elementary School serves one of the highest proportion of students whose family income falls at or below the national poverty level in all of Madison County. Graces of Gurley provides MCES with weekend bags to give to students as needed. We also donate snacks for the school counselor and nurse to keep on hand and keep an emergency food pantry stocked for families in immediate need.

The Word of God is essential to the human soul, but Jesus made it a point to feed people. At Graces we believe that physical hunger needs to be addressed, as well as the spiritual hunger that people may not even be aware is a need.
